How to Plant Falcata Trees
Guide:
Planting a Falcata most take place as soon as “wet season” to established and as long as “before dry season”. Do not plant during “dry season”, unless you have a good irrigation.
MATERIALS TO BE USED:
1. Shovel – For digging, lifting and bulk materials.
2. Crowbar -
3. Billhook – For cutting small woody materials.
4. Bolo
5. Fertilizer (Chicken Manure, Urea)
6. Falcata Seedlings
FOLLOW THIS STEP:
STEP #1:
A. Prepare the area planting.
B. Clear the land by cutting or spraying herbicide
C. Remove unwanted trees.
STEP #2:
Dig holes approximately
4-inch x 4-inch and 5-inch deep with 2mx2m.
STEP #3:
Put mixture of “chicken manure” and
“urea” in
the bottom (1 handful of chicken manure and 1 scoop in a can (sardines) urea)
STEP #4:
A.
Cover the
chicken manure with 1-inch top soil.
B.
Be sure to cover
with soil to avoid roots from being rotten due to heat coming from decomposed
manure.
READY FOR PLANTING:
1. Prepare the Falcata Seedlings.
2. Water the falcata before transplanting
3. Remove the plastic bag and ensure the roots are not
shaken loose during transplanting.
4. Place the falcata seedling in the hole.
5. Cover the falcata with soil and press gently to ensure
the soil is firm around the seedling.
6. Water the transplanted falcata seedling.
CARE AND MAINTAINANCE:
1. Put a stick made of Bamboo beside falcata and tie falcata to bamboo
stick for straight growth.
2. Round weed young trees regularly
3. Irrigated and much young trees during dry season.
4. Trim branches of falcatas regularly but avoid
trimming young trees during dry season to avoid young trees from heat stress.

Expect harvest in 5 years if good care well
maintained.
